Los Alamos National Laboratory.

These databases are an expansion of the human papillomavirus project funded by the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Branch of the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda Maryland. The scope of the project includes molecular information pertaining to sexually transmitted bacteria and viruses, especially, though not limited to, molecular sequence data.

This project was completed in October of 2003 and encompasses a total of eight annotated bacterial genomes and five annotated viral genomes with accompanying graphics and analyses. We welcome new information and references from the STD research community concerning these genomes and will include it as time permits. At this time no new genomes are anticipated to be added to the collection.

Again, we acknowledge and thank the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for its generous support of this project.
