tRNA Table for Chlamydia trachomatis

Chlamydia trachomatis appears to possess no fewer than 37 transfer RNA genes as determined by the tRNAscan-SE 1.1 algorithm of T.M.Lowe and S.R.Eddy (Nucl. Acids Res. 25: 955-964, 1997). These tRNAs are potentially modified by a minimum of 9 enzymes and charged by at least 17 "aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases."; In contrast to what is seen in E.coli, T.pallidum and M.genitalium, relatively few of the trachomatis tRNA genes are clustered (see accompanying map). No tRNA genes were found associated with the 16S-23S rRNA spacer regions.
