At this time, no copB sequence has been found in U.u. Exact E.C. may be 3.6.1.36 (an integral membrane protein).

As this sequence contains similarity to ATPases, and it contains significant transmembrane regions, it is possible that this represents an export protein.

Generally, bacterial ABC importers have an ATP binding domain and membrane-spanning domains located on separate polypeptides whereas the ABC exporters may carry these components on the same or on different polypeptides.

Numerous hits in gapped BLAST to cation-transporting ATPases, e.g. residues 11-679 are 30% similar to COPA_ENTHR. Residues 26-682 are 32% similar to a cation transporting ATPase from A. aeolicus (AE000724). UU203 is similar to TP1036 and CT727, two predicted heavy-metal transporting ATPase sequences. It is weakly related to MG071, a possible ortholog of UU265.
