Comment:
This protein is involved in mRNA degradation. It hydrolyses single-
stranded polyribonucleotides processively in the 3' to 5' direction.
It is involved in the RNA degradosome, a multi-enzyme complx important
in RNA processing and messanger RNA degradation.

Reaction:
RNA(N+1) + ORTHOPHOSPHATE = RNA(N) + A NUCLEOSIDE DIPHOSPHATE.
