Comment:
This protein is involved in the final stages in peptidoglycan synthesis.
Specifically it removes the C-terminal D-alanyl residues from
sugar-peptide cell wall precursors.

Reaction:
D-ALANYL-D-ALANINE + H(2)O = 2 D-ALANINE.
