This protein is necessary for the biosynthesis of purines, thymydylate,
methionine, histidine, pathotenate, and formyl tRNA-Met

Reaction:

TP0732 was assigned three EC 1.5.1.5, 6.3.4.3, and 3.5.4.9 in our original annotation. Comparison of our annotation with the annotation done by KEGGs leads us to re-examine our original annotation.

Top hits in gapped BLAST, focusing only on Swiss-Prot sequences, were to FOLD_BACSU and FOLD_STRTR (methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase /
methenyltetrahydrofolate cyclohydrolase). The EC numbers assigned to these FOLD proteins in the Swiss-Prot database are 1.5.1.5 and 3.5.4.9.

A few other hits to C-1-tetrahydrofolate synthase (C1-THF synthase) (methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase / methenyltetrahydrofolate cyclohydrolase/formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase) were observed at lower significande levels. The EC numbers assigned to these proteins by Swiss-Prot are 1.5.1.5, 6.3.4.3, and 3.5.4.9. However, the Enzymes in this subgroup are from Eukaryotae.

Phylogenetic analysis indicate that TP0732 is belong to the FOLD subgroup. As a result of our re-examination, the EC number 6.3.4.3 for TP0732 has been removed.
