Comment:
From GenBANK (gi:2506354): This protein catalyzes the reaction: l-aspartate 4-semialdehyde + pyruvate = dihydrodipicolinate + 2 H2O. It is sensitive to lysine inhibition and is involved in the biosynthesis of diaminopimelate and lysine from aspartate semialdehyde; first step. This cytoplasmic homotetramer belongs to the DHDPS family.
