Comment:
From GenBANK (gi:2506291): This protein catalyzes the reaction: citrate + CoA = acetyl-CoA + H2O + oxaloacetate. It is allosterically inhibited by NADH and is involved in the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Citrate synthase is found in nearly all cells capable of oxidative metabolism.
