Comment:
From GenBANK (gi:12644200): LipB is involved in the attachment of lipoyl groups to proteins, by creating an amide linkage that joins the free carboxyl group of lipoic acid to the epsilon-amino group of a specific lysine residue in lipoylated proteins. It operates very poorly with exogenous lipoic acid as a lipoyl donor.
