Comment:
From GenBANK (gi:12230902): This enzyme catalyzes the reaction: l-homoserine + NADP(+) = l-aspartate beta-semialdehyde + NADPH, and there is feedback inhibition by threonine. This is involved in the third step in conversion of l-aspartate to homoserine. Homoserine participates in the biosynthesis of threonine and then isoleucine and in the biosynthesis of methionine. It belongs to the homoserine dehydrogenase family.
