Comment:
From GenBANK (gi:461986): Edd catalyzes the reaction: 6-phospho-d-gluconate = 6-phospho-2-dehydro-3-deoxy-d-gluconate + H2O. It is a key enzyme in the entner-doudoroff pathway, and it is induced by growth on gluconate. Edd belongs to the IlvD / Edd family.
