Comment:
From GenBANK (gi:1172051): This protein oxidizes PNP and PMP into pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP), by the reaction: pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate + H2O + O(2) = pyridoxal 5'-phosphate + NH(3) +
H2O2, requiring a cofactor, FMN. This is involved in the de novo synthesis of pyridoxine (vitamin b6) and pyridoxal phosphate. PNPOX belongs to the pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate oxidase
family.
