Comment:
This enzyme, which condenses acylCoA and 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate, is important for phospholipid biosynthesis.

In E. coli, this gene is required for the synthesis of the major glycerophospholipids (Coleman, J. 1990).
