Gapped BLAST revealed several significant hits
to other LepA GTP-binding membrane proteins. For example residues
1-561 are 83% similar to LEPA_MYCPN, GTP-binding membrane protein
of Mycoplasma pneumoniae,(AE000055). Residues 3-598 are 52% similar
to LEPA_BACSU, GTP-binding membrane protein of Bacillus subtilis,(Z99117).
In addition residues 4-596 are 47% similar to TP0510, GTP-binding
membrane protein of T. pallidum. There is also strong similarity to
TP0450 and TP0767, translation elongation factor G, TP0187,
translation elongation factor TU, and TP0891 translation initiation
factor 2 of T. pallidum. Residues 4-597 are 47% similar to CT064,
GTP-binding membrane protein of C. trachomatis. There is also strong
similarity to CT322, ELONGATION FACTOR TU, CT437, ELONGATION FACTOR
G, and CT096, TRANSLATION INITIATION FACTOR IF-2.
