PgsA is an integral membrane that catalyzes the addition of glycerol-3-phosphate to CDP-diacylglycerol. Experimental evidence from primer extension analysis of MG114 and its promoter sequence (mg24) prediction can be found in the reference (Gene Vol. 215 (1) pp. 213-222)

Gapped BLAST revealed several significant hits to phosphatidylglycerophosphate
synthase proteins. For example residues 8-230 are 58% similar to PGSA_MYCPN,
phosphatidylglycerophosphate synthase of Mycoplasma pneumoniae,(AE000057).
In addition, residues 84-221 are 32% similar to residues 42-171 of
PGSA_HAEIN, phosphatidylglycerophosphate synthase of Haemophilus
influenzae,(U32698).
Residues 29-230 are 25% similar to residues 2-198 of
TP0256, phosphatidylglycerophosphate synthase of T. pallidum. This
protein is also significantly similar to two PgsA proteins of C.
trachomatis, CT797 and CT496. For example residues 30-221 are 30%
similar to residues 5-183 of CT797.
