Comment:
YopS translocation protein is a component of the Yop secretion machinery.
It probably is an integral membrane protein that belongs to the FliQ/MopD/SpaQ family.

In B.subtilis, this integral membrane protein has a role in flagellar
biosynthesis.

Chlamydiae do not have flagella, they are nonmotile and nonpiliated.
They do have unusual sylindrical surface projections, usually numbering
18, arranged in a hexagonal array. The projections are anchored in the cytoplasmi
membrane and protrude through holes in the envelope. The projetions have been
postulated to help developing chlamydiae penetrate the endosome membrane,
permitting uptake of nutrients from the host cytoplasm.
