Comment:
This gene is a homolog of one of four genes in C. trachomatis and C.
psittaci that appear to be involved in type III,
virulence-associated, contact-dependent, secretion. Other genes
in this cluster found in C. pneumoniae are CPn0322, CPn0323, and CPn0325.
A second cluster of interest is CPn0823, CPn0824, CPn0825, CPn0826, and
CPn0828.
As many as 20 membrane proteins may be
involved in this system. See Bavoil and Hsia, Mol. Microbiol. 28(4):860,

62(2): 379-433.

One of four genes whose products make up the putative type III,
virulence-associated, contact-dependent, secretion pathway. FHIPEP
(flagella/HR/invasion proteins export pore) family proteins.
