Secondary Evidence:
Bystrom AS, Hjalmarsson KJ, Wikstrom PM, Bjork GR. 1983. The nucleotide sequence of an Escherichia coli operon containing genes for the tRNA(m1G)methyltransferase, the ribosomal proteins S16 and L19 and a 21-K polypeptide. EMBO J. 2(6):899-905.

Brosius J, Arfsten U. 1978. Primary structure of protein L19 from the large subunit of Escherichia coli ribosomes. Biochemistry 17(3):508-16.

Kitakawa and Isono. 1977. Localization of structural gene for ribosomal-protein L19 (RplS) in Escherichia-coli. Molecular & General Genetics 158(2): 149-155.

Comment:
This protein is identical to GenBank accession AAD18271 (genome position accession AE001598). In Escherichia coli, L19 is known to be located at the 30S-50S ribosomal subunit interface and may play a role in the structure and function of the aminoacyl-tRNA binding site.

Blast Summary:  PSI-Blast Search
CPn0118 is orthologously related to CT028: residues 1-121 are 82% similar to that of CT028.

CPn0118 is similar to UU566 in U. urealyticum, TP0909 in T. pallidum, and to MG444 in M. genitalium. All of them are predicated 50S ribosomal proteins L19.
