Comment:
Elongation factor tu (EF-TU), a predicted, cytoplasmically-located monomer, promotes the GTP-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis.

In E.coli, EFTU promotes GTP binding to charged tRNA and to the A site of
the ribosome. It is subject to the antibiotic drugs kirromycin and
putromycin. For EFTU_CHLTR, see Zhang et al., J.Bact. 176:1184 (1994).
