Comment:
PTH appears to promote the hydrolysis of peptide chains from tRNAs, perhaps as peptidyl-tRNAs exit ribosomes.

hydrolase sequence, PTH_CHLTR (U31570), and 77% similar to a putative heat shock protein orf,
M62820. At convergence in Psi-BLAST, only PTH sequences or occasional hypothetical
sequences such as M62820 are observed. CT800 is similar to TP1011 of T.pallidum, a
predicted pth sequence. It is also similar to MG083 of M.genitalium.

CT800 is orthologously related to CPn0950: residues 1-176 of CT800 are
48% similar to residues 1-176 of CPn0950, a predicted peptidyl-tRNA
hydrolase from C. pneumoniae.
