Lysyl-tRNA synthetase is a cyotplasmically located homodimer.

Reaction: ATP + l-lysine + tRNA(lys) = AMP + pyrophosphate +
l-lysyl-tRNA(lys).

residues 16-526 are 41% similar to SYK_SYNY3. Residues 190-509 are 26% similar to the enzyme from T.pallidum (TP1040).
Residues 140-311 and 436-516 are 28% and 37% similar to the aspartyl-tRNA synthetase from
T.pallidum (TP0985). CT781 is similar to TP1040, a predicted lys-tRNA synthetase in T.pallidum.
