Comment:
This enzyme is involved in the first step of liposaccharide
biosynthesis, converting PEP and D-arabinose-5-phosphate to
2-dehdro-3-deoxy-D-octonate-8-phosphate. See CT182 and CT208.

Other names for this protein include phospho-2-dehydro-3-deoxyoctonate aldolase, 3-deoxy-d-manno-octulosonic acid 8-phosphate synthetase, and KDO-8-phosphate synthetase.
