Comment:
Threonyl-tRNA synthetase is believed to be a cytoplasmically located homodimer
that belongs to class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases.
ThrS is able to autoregulate its own translation by binding to its mRNA and
repressing translation.

Reaction: ATP + l-threonine + tRNA(thr) = AMP + pyrophosphate +
l-threonyl-tRNA(thr).

CT581 is identical to a previously published C.trachomatis aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase sequence (L25105).
Other hits in gapped blast are to THREONYL-TRNA synthetase
sequences, e.g. residues 37-653 are 43% similar to SYT2_BACSU. CT581
is similar to TP0837 in T.pallidum and to MG375 in M.genitalium.

CT581 is orthologously related to CPn0806: residues 26-660 of CT581 are 75%
similar to residues 1-635 of CPn0806, a predicted threonyl-tRNA synthetase from
C. pneumoniae.
