Comment:
In E.coli the ATOS protein appears to be an integral membrane protein that
functions in the ATOS/ATOC regulatory system, perhaps by phosphorylating
ATOC. This system is involved in acetoacetate metabolism. See CT468.

Hits in gapped BLAST to two-component sensor histidine kinase sequences, e.g.,
residues 17-351 are 24% similar to ATOS_ECOLI and approximately 23% similar
to the protein from B.subtilis (Z99111). No similarities to T.pallidum
or M.genitalium.

CT467 is orthologously related to CPn0584: residues 15-348 of CT467 are
63% similar to residues 15-349 of CPn0584, a predicted two-component sensor histidine
