Comment:
This peptidase appears to selectively degrade proteins with nonpolar C-termini, e.g., penicillin-binding protein 3.

In E. coli, Prc is suggested to be part of the fatty acid transport system (Azizan, A. and P.N. Black, 1994).
It also appears to be a membrane protein situated on the periplasmic side of the cytoplasmic membrane.
