Cellular location of the leucyl-tRNA synthetase is cytoplasmic. It
appears to be a monomer.
Reaction: ATP + l-leucine + tRNA(leu) = AMP + pyrophosphate + l-leucyl-tRNA(leu).
Through similarity the leucyl-tRNA synthetase belongs to class-I
aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases.
