Comment:
CT207 and CT205 are paralogously related: 38% similar over residues 63-494
It is not clear that an alpha subunit is represented by the genome. Blasting
PFPA_SOLTU against the genome shows both CT205 and CT207 about 38%
similar to the alpha sequence; both have slightly better scores (42-43%) when
PFPB_SOLTU is blasted against ctpro_all.

CT207 was assigned the EC number 2.7.1.11 during our original annotation. Comparison
of our annotation with the annotation done by KEGGs leads us to re-examine our original annotation.

The top hits in Gapped-BLAST were to 6-phosphofructokinase which
are assigned the EC number 2.7.1.11 in the Swiss-Prot and Pir databases.

Several hits to pyrophosphate-fructose 6-phosphate 1-phosphotransferase were observed at lower significance levels. The EC numbers assigned to these
proteins by Swiss-Prot and Pir are 2.7.1.90.

The region of similiarity between CT207 and pyrophosphate-fructose 6-phosphate 1-phosphotransferase is confined to the 74-329 N-terminal amino acids of CT207 (of a total of 548 amino acids).
The clustalw guide tree and phylogenetic tree indicates that CT207 clusters with the 6-phosphofructokinase proteins
and not with the pyrophosphate-fructose 6-phosphate 1-phosphotransferase proteins.

As a result of this re-examination, the EC number 2.7.1.11 for CT207 appears valid.

sequences, e.g. residues 34-541 are 42% similar to PFPB_RICCO. CT207
is similar to TP0542, a predicted pyrophosphate--fructose 6-phosphate
1-phosphotransferase from T.pallidum. It is also similar to MG215 from M.genitalium and PG150 of P.gingivalis

CT207 is orthologously related to CPn0160:
residues 1-536 of CT207 are 67% similar to residues 1-536 of CPn0160, a predicted fructose-6-P phosphotransferase from C. pneumoniae.
CT207 is also similar to TP0542, CT205, CPn0208, all predicted fructose-6-P phosphotransferases.
