Comment:
This protein is currently hypothetical status. This is a borderline
call with regards to the Blast results. Further examination of the
data may lead to a more confident prediction of the function of this
protein, a possible monooxygenase (mhpA). See CT149.
The Blocks data which is available for this protein has not yet
been thouroughly interpreted. This appears to be an example of a
case in which filtering for low complexity during Blast searching
is not desirable.


Blast Summary:  PSI-Blast Search
No significant hits in gapped BLAST using the seg filter.
This appears to be an example of a case in which filtering for
low complexity is not desirable. When the seg filter is not used,
we observe essentially the same set of blast hits. The E-values of
these hits are now significant. With the filter on, Residues 154-321 are 25% similar to a stretch
of MHPA_ECOL (3-(3-hydroxy-phenyl)propionate hydroxylase) (E value of 0.011).
CT148 is weakly similar to MG137, a predicted dTDP-4-dehydrorhamnose reductase in M.genitalium.
No similarity to T.pallidum.

CT148 is orthologously related to CPn0151: residues 1-507 of CT148 are
57% similar to residues 1-506 of CPn0151, a predicted monooxygenase from
C. pneumoniae.
